It was on New Years Day just passed when a few of us ladies had a moment of madness (not sure if it was the alcohol consumed) and decided to set ourselves a challenge that would unite us most weekends with training!!!  We have decided to take on the 'Moon Walk' challenge in Edinburgh on 20th June 2009. 

The only target we have set ourselves is to complete the marathon within the time permitted (12hrs - it might be touch and go!!!).  Oh yeah and to factor in as many pub crawls as possible (come on its all part of the motivation!!!)

All jokes a side cancer is an illness that has effected mine and my families lives for many years now and the main motivation for this walk is in memory of my mother Lynne Nicola Moffat who sadly lost her 12year fight to Breast Cancer last year.  We hope that the money we raise will help the many people that are affected by the illness as; cancer has probably effected you in some way be it yourself, a family member or a friend.  

For a bit of background Walk the Walk is a grant making charity, which means that everybody taking part in their challenges is raising money for Walk the Walk.  The charity then looks at various projects and campaigns that are involved with breast cancer and grants funds to where they know it will make the most difference. Their policy is to support research, which they feel is our future, and certainly over the past 10 years great breakthroughs have been made.  They also support those that have cancer with equipment and care.

Without your help and generosity Walk the Walk would not be able to provide the continued and well needed support and funding required by so many.  We are not asking you to donate your entire wages, all we ask is that you donate what ever you can afford to help Walk the Walk continue to change lives.
