Story

The story below is about the person the team are supporting.......

'I am 18 years old and in January I hope to be celebrating my 19th birthday. Birthdays are supposed to be an occasion to remember. However my 19th will be remembered for a very different reason, it could possibly be one of the last birthdays I ever celebrate. I have type 1 diabetes, an incurable disease which requires 24/7 treatment. This unfortunately is the least of my problems. I am dying of stage 4 kidney failure; it is a degenerative disease which is progressively developing causing me to catch life threatening illnesses. If I was not diabetic I would not have contracted any of these terminal illnesses which will soon sadly end my life. I feel it is my duty to do as much as I can to help other people from being in the same situation I find myself in at present. This is why I need your help.

I am organising an event in May to raise money for diabetes UK. The money will go to better treatment and even better hopefully a cure. My friends and family will be Cycling 170 miles in 3 days following the 'Way of the Roses' route Morecambe to Bridlington on the Bank Holiday weekend at the end of May 2013.'
