** Update **

I completed the 5k Fun Run on Thursday evening as planned.

 What we hadn’t planned for was the torrential rain, which started about 300m after the start and continued until just before the end of the 5k.

 It took me 43 minutes and my trainers are still drying out….! Assuming that T-Mobile will match my sponsorship, I'll have raised over £550 in total, so definitely worth getting soaked for :)

I'm doing the BA Fun Run on July 19th. BA organise this fundraising event in conjunction with Cancer Research UK, and last year's event raised over £68,000.

It's the same as the 5km Race For Life, it's just that BA have rebranded their event so they can have a separate men's race - to save the men having to do the women's race in drag :)  

Just remember - I'm not what you'd call a natural athlete (!) so your sponsorship will encourage me to finish the race. 

My colleague Allie did the Richmond Race For Life a few weeks ago, in a very respectable 30 minutes, so we calculated a reasonable target time for me based on Allie's time. And on her age !  

We've worked out that I'm 62.5% older than Allie (in fact, she is 11 days YOUNGER than my driving licence...). We then figured that a fair target time for me would be 62.5% more than her finishing time, so I'm aiming for 48 mins 45 secs, or less. Seems reasonable :)

My employer, T-Mobile, has a scheme where they will match the amount of money I raise (up to a generous £1000 maximum donation!), so please be generous and we can get as much as possible from T-Mobile.
