On 1st June this year, I'll be competing in Half Ironman Switzerland.  The 70.3 refers to the total number of miles I'll be covering:

1.2 miles of swimming in Lake Zurich

56 miles on the bike 

13.1 miles of running (otherwise known as a half marathon)
