Connect is a national charity. Our vision is a world where people with aphasia and communication disability find opportunity and fulfilment. We work with people with aphasia to promote effective services, new opportunities and a better quality of life for people living with aphasia. Aphasia is a communication disability which is usually caused by stroke but it can also arise from head injury and tumour. I'm running the London Marathon on behalf of Connect, a charity which supports people living with aphasia. Aphasia is an 'invisible' disability that affects communication - usually caused by stroke. People with aphasia find it hard to speak, read, write, understand language and use numbers.

My inspiration is my uncle Alwyn, who has had aphasia since 1995 as a result of a stroke.

Any amount will be very gratefully received, and will give me the incentive I need to get round the 26.2 miles!
