L'Arche builds communities with people who have learning disabilities. Together with assistants, they live in ordinary houses, with choice in and access to work, therapy and local resources. The nine L'Arche communities in England, Scotland and Wales are founded on Christian values, also welcoming people of other faiths and none.

Story

If I survive it mine’s a pint!

Yes, the rumours are true! I really will attempt to run 13 miles for a pint!

On a serious note I am participating in the Great North Run to raise money for L'Arche communities in Zimbabwe and Honduras. These two communities are in very poor countries and as such receive little or no state support so rely purely on donations. Here in L'Arche Liverpool we have made a collective effort to try and support these communities and I would be very grateful if you could help us raise even more money to send to them to allow them to buy the basics in food, drink and clothing etc.

I believe L'Arche is an amazing charity and it really makes a difference to the lives of the people with learning disabilities who live and work in its communities around the world. For more information on the charity please visit www.larche.org.uk

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: L'Arche will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

A big ‘thank you’ for all your support...and make sure I keep training for this personal challenge I am undertaking!!
