Hello!  

Most of you know that ‘Golden Oldies’ is my new passion! The Golden Oldies charity provides group singing sessions all over the West of England (soon to become national!).  We simply have great classic songs from the 40s-80s playing for an hour and we all join in using word sheets when necessary.  OLD PEOPLE ARE FANTASTIC! Being 80 or 90 is SOOOO different in my head now! We have such a giggle every Wednesday morning singing and dancing.. we all put smiles on each others faces.. it’s a wonderful bonding and mutual respectful environment where the elderly can feel safe and loved and can realise that each of them is an important part of the local community!  Bringing the elderly together in a sing song is just the beginning.  This hour of fun is a life line for many of the elderly members.  If all their family and close friends have passed away and they are frail, it is very hard to feel confident going out.  

However, new friendships and even relationships blossom within Golden Oldies sessions! Too often my Goldies will tell me that:

“this is the best morning of my week!  I spend the rest of the week looking forward to it”

“where else can you go and smile so much for an hour?!”

People are happier and therefore healthier! With our OAP population growing every day to almost one in 4 of us being over 65 in England now, it is SO important to look after that part of our community, and help them look after themselves!

This charity could be YOUR life line one day too, don't forget J 

... PLEASE help me support them in a bigger way than one morning a week.  More money means more sessions and more activity opportunities.. concerts, outings and much more..
