On 4 August a small group of friends will be cycling 200 miles from the Tower of London to the Eiffel Tower in under 24 hours.
I have organised Le Jour De France in memory of an old friend, Tim Sanders.
In 2002 Tim was hit at 70mph by a driver who was using a mobile phone and did not see him until he hit him, and who left him by the roadside (the driver was never prosecuted). He was almost completely paralysed, unable to even breathe on his own, but was still mentally all there and able to communicate by blinking. Tim fought, as Tim would, for two years before the fight could be fought no more. Those of us who attended his funeral were asked to help support The Brain and Spine Foundation in his memory.
Thanks for any donations you can make, and please remember to Giftaid your donation if possible. The money will go to help people like Tim who suffer from a range of brain and spine conditions.
Ride safe.
