<p>Three years ago, one week before her 9th birthday, our daughter Katie became very ill and was rushed into hospital where she was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. We spent a traumatic week in hospital stabilising Katie's blood sugars before she could be released to a life time of finger pricks and insulin injections to keep her alive. Everyday we are forced to confront this illness which affects over 25,000 kids in the UK. Type 1 is an auto immune disease and is not caused by a poor diet or lifestyle. Katie, is a fit and very sporty girl who through no fault of her own just happened to be unlucky enough to succumb to this horrible disease.Please help us find a cure and improve Katie's prospects of a normal life. </p>
