Football to Amsterdam 2019 - London route · 7 June 2019 to 9 June 2019 ·

Prostate Cancer UK has a simple ambition - to stop men dying from prostate cancer. Through shifting the science over the next 10 years to focus on radical improvements in diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and support, we will stop prostate cancer being a killer.

Story

On 7th June 2019, Bessie, John and I will begin our two day 145 mile cycle to Amsterdam, raising the profile of prostate cancer and hopefully doing our bit to help. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men. It’s a disease which kills one man every 45 minutes – that’s two men during a football match. But Prostate Cancer UK know that we can turn it around. Their aim is to make this a disease the next generation need not fear.

This will be mine and Bessies first cycle and John will be completing his 3rd, having been given the all clear from prostate cancer 4 years ago.

Cancer is such an awful disease with so many people being affected every second and Ironically the 7th June would also be my mum's 59th birthday. My mum unfortunately lost her battle with cancer back in 2008, so this ones also for you mum.
