Thanks for visiting the London Offshore Consultants (LOC) Asian Challenge Team donation site.

LOC has entered a team from our Singapore office into the Sailors’ Society Asian Challenge.

Once again the Challenge will be to climb to the summit of Mount Kinabalu, located on the North Eastern part of Borneo, Malaysia.

Mount Kinabalu is the tallest mountain in South East Asia and ranked 20 in the list of the world’s highest mountains. (4,095m above sea level)

Together with another 40 teams, each of three participants from across the shipping industry we will climb to the summit on 6 and 7 April 2013. With the heat and cold, sun and rain, oxygen and less oxygen, this will not be an easy task!

Our aim is to raise minimum a sum of 8,800 US Dollar for the Charity.

Our team will be represented by: Rutger Bierman (Team Captain), Olof Koning and Pete Ryan.

Our goal is to climb to the summit and return safely, whilst generating financial donations for the Sailors’ Society.

Sailors’ Society???

The Sailors’ Society is an international charity that provides a personal lifeline for seafarers all over the world.

They support a network of trained Chaplains, who work to provide welfare and support for merchant seafarers and their families, around the world.

The Port Chaplains visit thousands of ships every year, directly addressing the needs of seafarers, irrespective of a person’s religion or nationality.

The Sailors’ Society operates in 27 countries and 104 ports throughout the world. The Society wants to expand its web of services and to maintain the existing facilities.

The Society is entirely dependent on charitable donations and not linked to any specific church. Your donation will go towards their worldwide work caring for seafarers.

Without your donation the Sailors’ Society would not be able to function and sustain this essential work.
