Hello all, we'll be leaving this page running as long as possible so we can raise as much as possible for the RNLI. Thanks to everyone for their support. With this page and donations by cheque and cash so far we've raised around £2400 which is brilliant!!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Last update 26th July 2011.

We are a group of model boaters that are trying to raise as much as possible for the RNLI.

We attempted to sail 3 model Lifeboats the full length of Loch Ness, weather permitting, from Fort Augustus to Dochgarroch on the Caledonial Canal, that's nearly 25 miles! We were helped by the RNLI and the Loch Ness Sea Scouts with their 6.5m RIB and cruiser Muirtown Explorer. We also had a real ex-Rother Class Lifeboat the Mairi Bahn come along too, without whose help this wouldn't have been possible. 100% of all monies raised is going to the RNLI as those that participated met all costs of transport, accomodation etc.

The boats were three 1/12 scale Clyde Class Lifeboats each around 6ft long. The modellers were Neil Pritchard, Russell Procter and Mike Pendlebury. Sadly Neil was unable to make it on the day due to unforseen circumstances, so I took over his boat for the sail. A full review of the sail can be found at: http://www.modelboatmayhem.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=28576.100

Although due to the wind direction and weather we were unable to complete the full length of the Loch with the model boats, and had to reach the finish point on the cruiser we still hope you can donate. The 2 boats still running would have made the distance if it were not for the conditions, and that's one thing we can't control. After all our main objective is to raise as much as possible for the RNLI and the work they do.

**LATE NEWS: The current owner of one of the real Clydes has very generously offered a day out on his boat, details of how this is going to be auctioned/raffled off will be posted on here when details are finalised.

To support the project you can either donate here OR send a cheque (payable to 'RNLI' and dated 2nd July 2011) TO Neil Howard Pritchard, 7 Castle Avenue, Carleton, Poulton le Fylde, FY6 7NW.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now. Thanks to everyone for supporting us,

The Loch Ness Scale Sail Team.
