2010 Bupa Great Manchester Run · 16 May 2010 ·

We're dedicated to beating blood cancer. We fund research and support those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. The day we beat blood cancer is now in sight and our researchers are determined to finish the job.

Story

A heroic attempt by two valiant knights... or one fatty and Alison, as we're also known.

As you may know, one of our close friends has a son who, at the age of 2-and-a-bit, was diagnosed with leukaemia.  So we decided to run the Manchester Run to raise some money for leukaemia research, so that in the future hopefully we can find a way to fight it more effectively.

Retrospectively, Jon wishes he'd just given £250 to charity to bypass all the training.  He misses cakes :-(

As cheesy as it sounds, every penny will make a difference, so please do donate.  It'd be awesome of you.  Plus Jon will post his runner number on Facebook, so you can find the photos on the Great Manchester Run site and laugh at him wheezing his way around.

EDIT: just noticed it says 2010 Manchester Run.  We're doing 2011.  Although I did see a Delorean today, wasn't convinced it could take us back in time.  Hunk of junk didn't look like it'd hit 35, never mind 88 :(
