Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. As many of you may know, when I was born I stopped breathing and had to be resuscitated by the doctors. As my heart stpped for such a long time my brain has been damaged and is not working as well as other childrens'  brains. This means I cannot do many of the things that other little girls of my age can do like drink from a bottle, roll over or reach out for my favourite toys.

My mummy and daddy have found an organisation which works on helping children like me to achieve their full potential by attempting to repair some of the damage caused in my brain at birth.

For the last 11 months I have fought every step of the way and I am not going to stop until I have become the strong and healthy little girl that I want to be. I am not short of love or cuddles but me and my family do need help with the cost of my new treatment at Advance.

In December my mummy and daddy took me to East Grinstead to start my treatment with Advance and I have already stated to change. Two weeks ago I decided that I would start eating pureed foods... and now I'm a real little miss piggy! Hopefully I will update you soon with more news...

It's Now April 2009 and I am 16 months old. My 3rd visit to Advance is coming up and I have changed so much since my mummy updated you all last December. I have been off the NG tube now for a few months and my eating is coming on leaps and bounds. I drink chocolate flavoured soya milk brilliantly from a cup and I even manage to suck a little from a bottle too... (which is something the doctors said I would never do!). I am eating 3 huge pureed meals a day and my weight is finally starting to rocket. My head control is becoming much better and I am even strong enough to sit up straight with Mummy supporting me. I am laughing and smiling all the time, and I have just become strong enough to sit  in a forward facing buggy.. again, something mummy and daddy never thought would happen so soon! The list of my progress is endless but I still have a very long way to go and my next aim is to perfect my rolling as I am having a really good go!!!

Thank you for reading about my story, and a special thank you to all those people who decide to help us!
