NDCS Lombard 24 Peaks Challenge · 7 June 2008 to 8 June 2008 ·

We’re the National Deaf Children’s Society. We're the charity for deaf children with any level of hearing loss. Whatever the question or challenge, we’ll help find a way through. We believe in a world where anything is possible for deaf children.

Story

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.

On 7th and 8th June we will be donning our walking boots to climb 24 peaks of the Lake District (includes 6 of the top 10 highest peaks in England, a distance of 51km and an ascent of 4300 metres) all over a 24 hour period encountering difficult terrain, lengthy descents and steep ascents along the way. In addition to the physical challenge, we need to raise at least £5,000 for the The National Deaf Society

The National Deaf Children’s Society is the only UK charity solely dedicated to providing support, information and advice for deaf children and young people, their families and professionals working with them.  NDCS campaigns for improvements in services aimed at families with deaf children, working with central and local government, health authorities, education professionals, social services, manufacturers and other voluntary organisations.

This is a great cause, and the money we raise will really help NDCS with their important work.

Please sponsor us – whatever you can afford, because it’s true – every little helps, and frankly we need your sponsorship to spur us on through what’s likely to be a gruelling and painful 24 hours.

Please give generously to this charity and sponsor us now !!

Many thanks for your support.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: The National Deaf Children's Society will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Benefits to higher-rate taxpayers

If you pay tax at the higher rate, you can reclaim tax relief on your gross donation at 18% (eg the difference between the higher rate of tax at 40% and the basic rate at 22%).

For example, if you give £100 we can reclaim an extra £28.21 for the charity and you can reclaim another £23.08. As a result, a £100 gift worth £128.21 to your favourite charity only costs you £76.92.

Your Justgiving Account helps you claim tax relief by keeping an accurate record of your donations. Simply print out a copy of your donations history and attach it to your tax return.
