Story

Thank you for visiting our JustGiving page and helping us to reach our target of £2,000!! We have set this up in response to the current tragic situation in Japan, our former home, and still home to many of our friends. At this terribly difficult time, we feel compelled to give something back to the country that welcomed us and gave us so many opportunities and wonderful memories.

The London Victoriathon is based on the annual Tokyo Yamathon Challenge in which participants visit all stations of the Japan Rail Yamanote line. On 16th April 2011, along with friends and family including Paul 'Silky' Munday, Geoff Budd, Gemma Cox (Editor of NEO Magazine) and Liz Aveling, we walked across London visiting all 16 stations (19 miles) of the Victoria Line - the city's busiest Tube line - passing the Embassy of Japan on the way. To read more about the day click here.

We hope to raise as much sponsorship as possible for the GlobalGiving Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Fund, which is supporting various charities providing a whole range of services including medical, humanitarian and communications assistance to victims, specific aid for the many displaced children and non-Japanese, as well as longer-term rebuilding projects.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity. Whatever you can contribute will be very much appreciated by all concerned.

Many thanks.
