Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
On 5th October, I ran the 56 miles from London to Brighton to raise money for Emmaus. The run started in Greenwich Park, took in the North and South Downs and finished with a nasty climb over Ditchling Beacon after 50 miles before running down into Brighton.
This was definitely one of the hardest things I've ever attempted but with the help and support of Hayley, my family and friends, I finished in 13.08hrs.I was one of 81 finishers out of 187 entrants. A video of my run is at http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=C9okjCEX_k4 if you want to see what happened! It's an interesting view...
Please sponsor me to help Emmaus:
Emmaus tackles the problems of homelessness through a network of self-supporting Communities. There are 14 Communities in the UK, with Dover and Greenwich already established in Kent. Each Community has up to thirty Companions. There is a need for such a Community in the Medway area and Emmaus Medway aims to establish such a Community in Chatham by 2010 and is raising funds to that end. Over £40,000 has been raised to date, including from support for Marathons and sleep-outs, but significantly more (initially up to £500,000) will be needed once a suitable property has been identified as a base for the Community.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Emmaus gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
