Story

Many people are affected by the impact of cancer – work colleagues, family and friends and sometimes even ourselves.  As treatments improve, more and more people are living with cancer in their daily lives. This means they need more than medical help, they also need practical, emotional and financial support. For more information about Macmillan Cancer Support go to http://www.macmillan.org.uk/.

On 23rd June 2009 two fourballs representing the London Nomads completed the Longest Day Golf Challenge having teed off at 4.20am and finished at the "73rd hole" a little after 8pm. Despite a marathon 72 holes of play only 3 Stableford points separated the teams at the end of the day, each team posting a creditable tally exceeding 350 points - with Barrie's team just getting their noses in front during the final few holes. Our current total stands at a little over £21,000 with a few donations still anticipated - significantly exceeding our original £10,000 target. We would like to thank a number of parties that assisted in making the day such a huge success: Nizels Golf & Country Club in Sevenoaks kindly hosted the event, golf balls were provided by Callaway and Barclays and we were financially supported by SEB, Accenture, Optima, Integrated FM, MF Communications amonst many others. Also a big "thank you" to Sue and Ian and everyone at Macmillan Cancer Support for their ongoing support and guidance in the build up to the event.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our fundraising page.
