London to Paris Cycle Challenge · 11 February 2009

Ronald McDonald House UK helps families with children in hospital stay close by providing free accommodation just minutes from children’s hospital wards. Our Houses provide more than accommodation. We offer stability and emotional support that allow parents and carers to be active partners in care.

Story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

The London to Paris charity cycle is a great experience and a fabulous challenge. Cycling over 4 days we will cover nearly 500km. A challenge like this is not just about distances covered and start and finishing points, the bike ride is about group effort, friendship and more importantly spirit.
Connecting two of the world's most chic capital cities the London to Paris bike ride is an exciting charity cycle.
The following gives you a brief taste of the charity cycle ahead of Matt and Lloyd in September.

 DAY 1:
An early start from SE London. Our route takes us SE away from the main routes towards Tonbridge and on through the undulating Kent countryside to Dover where we catch the ferry to Calais
DAY 2:
After breakfast we head south through beautiful French countryside. Our route will take us along small quiet roads through villages and small towns. Night in Arras.
DAY 3:
This morning after a couple of tough days in the saddle our legs may feel a little tired. Today we continue south through villages and along quiet French roads to the more forested region around Compiegne, where we spend the night.
DAY 4:
Our final day's cycling takes us SW initially through small villages and woodland before we meet the outskirts of Paris. We cycle though the Parisian streets around the Arc de Triumph to our finish beneath the lofty arches of the Eiffel Tower.
