26 Years ago, our Dad "Jake Murray" decided to embark on a sponsored WALK from Kinnaird Head Fraserburgh, to Duncansby Head John O Groats on his own.  He did this following a coastal route, sticking to the coastline as much as he could, covering as many beaches, cliff tops and costal paths as possible.

The distance by road is 230 miles, we have no idea what mileage he actually covered along the coastline, but we are sure it was much more than this.

All proceeds from this event, went to the British Heart Foundation. The route he chose was very difficult, and resulted in Dad taking 9 days to complete it.  He raised a total of 1500 pounds, which at that time, was a good amount, I am sure you will agree, this was quite an achievement.

We his sons, James, Finlay, Errol and John, have decided this year, to do something along the same lines, but in reverse.  We plan to start on the 3rd of September 2010 from John O Groats.

Again this will be done for charity, and all proceeds are going to BBC Children in Need.  Due to us all working away from home, our time together is limited, so the plan is to walk from Joan O Groats, to our home town of Buckie, again, like Dad, we will follow the same costal route.

We will have the Kilts on, and camping where we can, or fall down, whichever comes first.!

We would very much appreciate it, if you could donate what you can, for this very worthy, and worthwhile Charity.

Most of us have them, and couldn't be without them, lets do something for the ones that need it most....

Remember..Children in Need November 2010.

A big thankyou from all the Murray Brothers..!
