Cardiac Risk in the Young Verified by JustGiving
RCN 1050845 (England & Wales), SC052581 (Scotland)
Each week at least twelve young people in the UK die suddenly as a result of undiagnosed heart conditions. At Cardiac Risk In the Young we aim to save young lives & to help those affected by young sudden cardiac death (YSCD). We do this by providing support, information & screening those affected.

Story

We will be cycling the Lon Las Cymru route in 5 days in August to raise money for CRY and would be very grateful of your support. The Lon Las Cymru is a 254 mile cycle route from Holyhead to Cardiff Bay down the full length of Wales, including 3 challenging mountain ranges.

This will be a massive challenge and we’d be very grateful for any donations.

All the money raised will go to the Gareth Thomas Memorial Fund. We both knew Gareth from a very young age, he died in his sleep from an undiagnosed heart problem aged 21 years, on February 25 2007. This was a huge shock, especially as he was fit and healthy. Gareth’s parents set up a memorial fund in Gareth’s name to raise funds for the wonderful work that CRY do (more details below).

So please sponsor us now!

A big thanks goes to The Bike Mechanic who will be supporting us to ensure that our bikes are fit and in working order for the challenge and provide us with some essential spares, and this year's riding tops to wear on the way.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Cardiac Risk in the Young gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
