The number of people diagnosed with cancer is growing, we're doing whatever it takes to help more people with cancer get the best care the UK has to offer, whoever and wherever they are. To donate, volunteer, raise money or campaign with us, call 0300 1000 200 or visit macmillan.org.uk

Story

Well we did it!  Phil, Brendan and Kevin  started their challenge at 5am on 31st July 2008, when first light was creeping across the land.  We finished 15 hours later at approximately 830pm, when dusk was just settling, and having each walked around 36000 yards (21miles).

Amazingly we scored pretty good across the day, as individuals and as a group  - with Brendan taking the best scores of the day and Kevin taking most of our "skins" game money. Phil was just happy to be building up the tension and stakes in the game!

Contrary to our beliefs we actually strolled down (and up) the 72nd fairway and were still swinging away until the very last putt was sunk, until we had scored a collective 446 stableford points, and with pretty consistent games across the four rounds  - Round Two was clearly the best though.

So far, thanks to family, friends, and colleagues we have raised around £1800 and would like to spend August making this into a round £2000  - please keep donating, it will make the sore feet and legs (and Brendan's wrist!) all the more bearable!

Oh and look out, next year we will be adding even more of an challenge to our days worth of golf.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Macmillan Cancer Support will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor us now!

Many thanks for your support.
