A Little bit about me and the Challenge Ahead.

Hi, My name is Lorraine Iam a volunteer in the girl guiding movement  for the last 17 years i am Brown Owl at 2 Gloucester Brownies and also run 2nd glos Rainbows this has been very rewarding and I now feel ready to expand this and challenge myself to walk 65 Km in the Crater Highland and landscapes of the Tanzanian Rift Valley Masai. I need your support to make this happen requiring at least £3000 sponsorship. There is also an administration fee of £500 which I will be giving as my donation to this challenge.            Personally I feel I am at a point in my life for a challenge having recently lost 3 stone in weight I feel at my healthiest and fittest ready for the challenge of a lifetime walking over mountainous and rough terrain.

The Charity I am challenging for

 It will be raising money for the girlguiding uk centenary Fund which helps young girls with their own challenges, This is an important charity to myself, to enable the development of the girls and young women who benefit.

 

The sponsorship Money you give will be used by the GirlGuiding Centenary Fund. This fund is used to enable individual girls and young women to participate in something otherwise not available to them. Some example of these are shown below, although these seem like small amount to many people they can make a huge difference to the individual Child and allow them to develop self-esteem and confidence

 

£10 could pay for activities at a Rainbow’s (GirlGuiding UK's youngest section) first sleepover

£50 could enable a young woman to have her first taste of politics by attending a youth participation seminar

£100 could pay for a Guide to go on a local camp, which she would otherwise not have been able to afford.
