Please support our bid to break the relay record for swimming the entire length of Lough Erne in aid of the Ulster Cancer Foundation (UCF).
Our team of 6 swimmers will start at Crom Castle, Upper Lough Erne, and finish at the far end of Lower Lough Erne, at Belleek - a distance of 48 miles. The record is 22 hours and 12 minutes and is held by an English ladies team. There have been several attempts at breaking their time since, but all so far unsuccessful. The water termperature will be around 16 degrees C.
The swim will take place on Saturday 30th July and is being facilitated and sponsored by Fermanagh District Council and Waterways Ireland. Team Members are - Graham Little, Chelsey Wilson and Paul Colvile all from Enniskillen, Tony McBulty from Belfast, Adam Heayberd from Strangford and Colin Hill from London. Each of us swim for an hour at a tum and we must maintain the same order throughout. When not swimming, the team will be resting in a cruiser sponsored by Lochside Garages Vauxhall, Enniskilen.
We want to raise as much money for the Ulster Cancer Foundation as possible and hope that you can help.
Every year UCF need to raise almost £4 Million in order to continue their vital work for cancer patients and their families. All funds raised for UCF are spent locallly providing information, care and support services for the 55,000 people affected by cancer in Northern Ireland.
