Story
On the morning of Saturday 6th September, whilst some are having a lie-in and others have only just got in after an impromptu night out, I'll be starting to ascend a large(ish) hill in Scotland. This will signify the start of the 3 Peak Challenge; a 24 hour, 500 mile road trip to climb the 3 highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales (Ben Nevis (1344m), Scafell (978m) and Snowdon (1085m)).
I guarantee that I'll be feeling a bit sick, will have heart burn and will be furiously debating with myself as to who on earth suggested this ludicrous thing. Then I'll recall that there is no one to blame and that the truth is that a) I like a challenge and b) it gives me the opportunity to raise money for something I really care about.
Sadly cancer is something that we've all been affected by and in my case my wonderful uncle died almost 2 years ago to the day from pancreatic cancer. It was horribly aggressive and painful. The only real relief he got was when he was moved from the hospital to St Elizabeth Hospice. There they were better equipped to deal with his pain and his diet, they had wonderful gardens which Christopher loved, and were of huge emotional support to both him and those who loved him. He was far more at peace here than he had previously been.
Less than one fifth of the £5.2M that the hospice needs to run comes from The Primary Care Trust, after that they are on their own and rely on individual donations and fundraising events for the rest. If by doing this, I can in some small way contribute by way of thanks for their support to Christopher and our family, I will be thrilled.
I am hugely grateful to anyone who sponsors me and many thanks in advance.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: St Elizabeth Hospice (Suffolk) gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
