Story

Hi everyone, we would really appreciate it if you could sponsor us (Two Fit Ladies!) for the Maggie's Monster Bike and Hike on Saturday 3rd May.  We will cycle 30 miles from Fort William along the Caledonian Canal and then hike 22 miles to Drumnadrochit.  Jennifer & Peter (Louise's parents) will also be there as the all-important support team - which we hope means dry clothes (if it's raining) and good food at the appropriate moments!

Our qualifications: we met on a hiking holiday in Patagonia in January 2005.  Surely this will be easier than hiking across a glacier in Argentina!

Prior to the Patagonia trip Sandra was already an "experienced international hiker" (!) and Louise had ascended the odd munro in Scotland!  Since the Patagonia holiday, we have both reached the summit of Kilimanjaro (that's 5,895 metres!).  Moreover, Sandra is trekking to Everest Base Camp in April 2008, so will either be very fit for this new challenge or very wrecked (!), while Louise has continued to keep up her fitness by running the Edinburgh marathon in 2007 and attending the infamous Drumfriesshire Boot camp in February this year.

If you don't already know about Maggie's you are lucky!  It probably means you haven't come face-to-face with cancer.  But if you do know the charity, you will understand why this is a fantastic cause to support.  The work the Maggie's centres staff does cannot be underestimated.

Thank you in advance for your support!
