Hi guys just to let you know, I jumped on the 27th October!! Was an amazing experience! Thank you all for your support!!
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm doing this tandem sky dive because I am a little bit crazy and I want to give back to a Charity who do some amazing work. People who know me will think I am crazy. In February, I had surgery to remove metal from my hip which left me with a broken femur and I am still going through the process of intense physiotherapy. That won't stop me though. I will do this. I will jump and I will help!
Right now, the North East Autism Society, are trying to raise £2,000,000 to build this centre and need to do it within two years.
This is what they say,
"Our new centre will be called the 'North East Centre for Autism'. This will be a central hub for the Society; the vision behind the centre is to improve the range of specialist services available across the region, encompassing care, education and residential accommodation, whilst improving the scope of our family support and outreach services.
This development will greatly increase our reach and will allow us to provide services across the region. We aim to demonstrate that by ‘personalising’ what we do and customising the support we provide, we can enhance the wellbeing of individuals in a real and very cost effective way. The new centre will see the Society developing an advice and support service for parents and families. We will provide outreach support to children and families in their own homes.
A full range of Community Services will be available including short breaks, intensive support for families in crisis, after school clubs, holiday schemes, leisure and activity clubs etc. The centres school will benefit from our highly specialised teaching and support methods, and will be able to work with children from entry level to post sixteen, including secondary level education and vocational courses. We will provide resources for all our service users."
The appeal is an opportunity for the whole community to get involved and raise funds for Society. If you can help in any aspect of this project or need more information please get in touch. We need to raise £2 million or more in the next two years from the appeal to make the North East Centre for Autism a reality.
