About our charity
:
Ulster Cancer Foundation
The Ulster Cancer Foundation is a Northern Irish charity dedicated to helping patients & their families cope with cancer.
We were the first local cancer charity, set up in 1970, with the principle aim of reducing the impact of cancer within the local community.
Our mission is to save lives & to provide an enhanced quality of life for all those affected by cancer through our care services, researching new & better treatments for cancer, cancer education & prevention programmes, public campaigns & advocacy.
The services we provide include, family support, cancer support groups, freephone helpline, information & support, counselling, fitting service and cancer prevention training for health professionals & teachers to name but a few.
Our work is only possible due to the generosity of local people who raise almost all of the funding needed to provide our services. All the money raised on our behalf is spent in Northern Ireland, helping to support local people with cancer.

| Our personal message: |
Howdy folks,
Thanks for logging into our page. It's pretty simple - we are taking up the 4 Peak Challenge on 3-5 July which involves climbing Slieve Donard (NI), Snowdon (Wales), Scafell Pike (England) and Ben Nevis (Scotland) ALL WITHIN 40 HOURS!!! (more info at www.ukoutdoorpursuits.co.uk/4peaks/index.htm )
Whilst it will be a challenge to say the least, it's all in aid of the ULSTER CANCER FOUNDATION and we hope that you will kindly help us reach our target of £1500.
Thanks again and whilst we get on the inclined treadmill you get sponsoring (and encouraging your friends to do likewise!).
THANKS!!!
Louise and Michael
A message from Louise: As you can tell from the photo, I recently fractured my fractured wrist. I had been very hopeful I would still be alright for the challenge, but because my wrist will not be fully healed, I have been advised by the consultant against doing the challenge this year. I am sorely disappointed that I can't carry on with Michael because I was really looking forward to taking on the challenge together.
I have already carried my registration forward to next year's challenge, which is due to take place from 25th - 28th June 2009. Any donations that have been made or are made on my behalf this year will be carried forward to help me reach the target sponsorship for next year. The best thing is, the charity and the people they help will get the benefit right away.
Michael will, of course, still be taking part in the challenge this year.
Please consider still making a donation.
Thank you,
Louise
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Ulster Cancer Foundation gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
