Well there is just slightly over a week to go and training has not gone as  smoothly as I hoped it would .mainly due to too many hours spent at work and the acquistion of a new puppydog called Flicka

. but I am still determined that I am going to complete this run and raise some money for CHASE

there has been running ...

I even ran whilst on holiday in Sweden .. where i did upward slopes .. also known as slight hills ..

I'm still not brilliant at it .. its still a struggle and I've had a stitch and a blister

BUT I think I can manage 4.5 miles now .. woo hoo :-) ... .. only another 5.5 on top of that ..

 4/6 .. My First progress report ...

Running shoes have finally been bought and training has started.

I can manage 3 miles withou passing out but don't seem to be able to increase that ..

also breathing appears to be a problem ...

 

 

Hi Everyone ..

As a lot of you may know my younger brother Pete ran in the London marathon for charity this year.

Anyway he's really inspired me and so I am going to try and do The Great South Run and run 10 miles in October and raise some money for CHASE in the process.

Please DO come and give me support on the day as I am sure I will be needing it

The furthest I have run before was 5k when I ran for "CHASE" in 2003, so I'm pretty nervous.

I first heard of CHASE in December 2001 when visiting Matthew Aston at Christopher's  - a children's hospice on the outskirts of Godalming during the last few weeks of his life. I was overwhelmed by the support given to Matthew and his friends and family.

I welcome the opportunity to raise money for the amazing work that they do.
