As you know it is my parents 25th Wedding Anniversary this year and they have requested no presents! However, they have suggested that Helen and I both choose a charity for you to donate to if you wish.
The Ghana Education Project is a registered UK charity looking to support the development of education and associated infrastructure in Nkwanta, a deprived area of North East Ghana. The founder Gill Norris has coordinated efforts in Nkwanta on a voluntary basis since she moved to live there in June 2004.
I am one of 15 girls from Tunbridge Well Girls' Grammar School who have been selected to go to Nkwanta in October this year. We will be teaching in schools in the Nkwanta region for two weeks, teaching subjects such as art, english and drama.
We set ourselves a fundraising target of £40,000 to help contribute to the latest project of the charity, which is to build a Girls' School. We are thrilled that the school is now built up to window level! We have worked really hard since last July to try and achieve this and it would be great if you could make a contribution.
So please dig deep and donate now.
