Im taking part in RBC Race for the Kids for the seriously ill children at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH)Every day bring new challenges at GOSH. Every day, 619 children and young people from across the UK arrive. The money raised from RBC Race for the Kids will help to fund ground-breaking research; advanced equipment; child and family support services and the rebuilding and refurbishment of wards and medical facilities.Over the last 10 years RBC Race for the Kids has raised an incredible £5 million for the hospital. In celebration of the 10th anniversary, Great Ormond Street Hospital Childrens Charity are hoping to raise £1 million from this years event. With your support we can get there.
At just the age of 5, my big brother Adam was diagnosed with leukaemia. Great Ormond Street Hospital were the reason he managed to cope the unthinkable for three years! At the time, I was only two, and I still vaguely remember all of the doctors’ appointments and tests he was forced to have. Furthermore, he was teased a bit by friends for losing his hair as he was only in reception and barely any of them understood. However he remained strong and positive always and continued doing everything he loved- especially football! He even went to school every day! Whilst I am running, I will also be thinking of my gorgeous Shazza. She is my grandma that I just lost in July. She was always kind and caring. But unfortunately she was defeated in the battle against cancer at just the age of sixty-nine. She will forever be remembered and loved by all.
