Across the Divide 40km walk on the South Downs · 12 May 2012

The Bujagali Trust supports educational projects in Uganda, East Africa. It has developed and now runs a nursery; it supports students in primary and secondary education; and is developing a vocational school. This will equip young people with practical, business and educational skills that can be used throughout the children's lives.

<p><strong><span style="color: #0000ff;">Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.</span></strong></p> <p><span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong><em>Team Members: Tara Carpenter, Jakki Marr, Nicky Tarrant, Nicola Stone</em></strong></span></p> <p><span style="color: #339966;"><strong><em><span style="color: #339966;">We aim as a team to walk 40km each (approx...&nbsp;25 miles) &nbsp;on the picturesque South Downs in West Sussex.&nbsp; We will be starting at 7:30am and hoping to finish by 4:00pm. &nbsp;We are all at&nbsp;different&nbsp;levels of fitness but we will be spurring each other on to complete the walk. &nbsp;</span></em></strong></span></p> <p><span style="color: #0000ff;"><strong><em>We've joined together to raise money for the BUJAGLAI TRUST in UGANDA. &nbsp;You'll see our team fundraising target above. &nbsp;Your donation can really help us achieve this goal. &nbsp;If we are fortunate enough to exceed this goal it would be marvellous! Why? Well, it would enable us to assist with larger projects in school communities in Uganda. &nbsp;Every little helps.</em></strong></span></p> <p><span style="color: #0000ff;"><strong><em>In October 2010 a group from Leighton Park travelled to Jinja, Uganda to work in a school community helping to build a new kitchen, renovate classrooms, paint buildings, assemble new desks, construct new sporting equipment and run sports coaching sessions. &nbsp;They were welcomed into the community by incredibly happy, but very poor children many of whom had no shoes and only the clothes that they came to school in.</em></strong></span></p> <p><span style="color: #0000ff;"><strong><em>Our fundraising effort is designed to assist this group so that they may have all the equipment required to complete a number of worthy community project whilst in Uganda. &nbsp;More importantly, the results of the work leave lasting benefits for hundreds of poor children who would otherwise go without. &nbsp;What better legacy could your donations be contributing to?</em></strong></span></p> <p><strong><em>Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
