Story
Thank you very much for your support so far!
On the 30th of June to the 1st of July our expedition team (Jack Amos, John Amos, Lucas Schreiber, Charlie Schreiber and Memphis, the small dog) walked the three highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales.
Our expedition started early Saturday morning. Saying good bye to our beds and showers we headed to Ben Nevis (Scotland) for 17:00 hours. After finishing Ben Nevis under our target time of five hours (4:45) we drove to Scarfell Pike (England). This was by far the grimmest of the 3 mountains. Starting at 4:20 in the morning and walking in very poor conditions (50-60 mph winds with heavy rain) proved to be the 'challenge' part of our expedition. Our spirits were brightened as we reached the bottom and found we had completed the walk in just 3 hours and 20 minutes, 40 minutes faster than our target time. At last we reached Snowdon (Wales). we arrived in glorious sunshine and enjoyed a good ascent. However half an hour short of the summit the weather turned and we were denied our view. We finished Snowdon in under 4 hours. Thus completing the Three Peak Challenge within 24 hours and with 25 minutes to spare. The total distance walked was approximately 25 miles and the distance climbed approximately 10,000 feet. All of which was also conquered by our dog, Memphis, who by the end of the Snowdon walk had very sore paws and was greatful there was not a fourth peak!
You may appreciate this was very arduous challenge that has required a lot of time, commitment and energy to organize and train for. As you may already see we are supporting the build of the St Johns all weather turf. We believe this facility will benefit both St Johns and the local community and we kindly ask you to donate a small sum of money that will help build the facility. This site is 100% secure and if you do not wish to donate via this page please text: ‘LJCC97’ to 70070. you will be asked to specify how much money you wish to donate, all of which will go towards St Johns.
Once this facility is complete it will make a huge impact at sport both within St Johns and Marlborough so please, dig deep, and support our cause.
