Since 2002, the Tag Rugby Trust has worked in 8 countries around the world. Post Covid, our focus is very much in Zimbabwe. We use rugby as a vehicle to “Build Futures” through social outreach programmes in the community. Sustainability and local ownership are central pillars to our approach.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am going to Uganda on 24th June till 13th July to play tag rugby with the Tag Rugby Trust. My Dad is a tour leader. Please visit www.tagrugbytrust.co.uk for lots of information about how it all works. I am going to be camping with a group of older volunteers, including my sister, Megan, and we will be teaching 1000 underprivileged children how to play Tag Rugby. At the end of the trip we will have a big tournament and there will be hundreds of children taking part.

In Uganda, the children I will be playing with do not have any sports kit. So, on our trip, we will take lots of kit with us and this is where Butcombe Pyjama Day and your generous donation comes in. I want to raise as much money as possible to buy kit for the children that I will be meeting. The kit is not expensive and it means a lot to the children. Here are some prices:

Tag belt £2.50, Bib £2, Cones 15 for £50, T-shirt £3, Ball £5, Bag for school kit £7,Whistle £3.

Please help me to raise as much as possible so that the kids in Uganda can enjoy sport the way we do.

Thank you

Luca
