Story
Hello lovely people ,
As you might know I am currently volunteering with NGO All Hands Volunteers in Tacloban, Leyte, Philippines and I am going to run my very first halfmarathon - 21km on November the 8th to help raise money to build permanent houses for people who lost theirs during Yolanda.
I have been in Philippines for a month (since September the 19th) and together with other volunteers we are devoting the next month to raising 1.1 million Pesos : a peso for every home damaged or destroyed by Yolanda, for All Hands Volunteers because to build permanent homes for Yolanda victims 1 yr. on.
This is my 2nd time volunteering with All Hands and I absolutely love it. I love seeing the progress we are making everyday and a positive aspect of helping the community.
We help to build school and transitional houses. We are digging trenches and It is hard manual work. But I along with other volunteers wake up everyday full of energy and enthusiasm because I can see the impact that our work has.
If any of you of my friends want to support our work and have a peso/ dollar/ euro or any money to donate ( just give up one beer for a better purpose:) feel free to donate.
Every single donation will make me proud and will help me run my very first half-marathon with a big smile on my face. And the most probably will give me an energy to pass the finishing line:)
big thanks and hugs to all of you
@a little update on a run: as a part of my training I have finished a PALO trail run 10km on 19th of October and I finished 2nd in women's category.
