Thank you so much for visiting my Just Giving page. I am working to raise £10,000 for MIND the leading Mental Health Charity this year by running the New York and London Marathons and various other fundraising events.

Mental Health - The Facts
Each week... 1 in 4 people suffer mental health problems. 106 people will take their own life this week. Mental health effect us all !
Every year... 31 million people will receive a prescription for antidepressants. 16 million receive a prescription for sleeping pills, anti-anxiety drugs and/or tranquillisers. The MindinfoLine responds to 25,000 queries BUT over 17,000 go unanswered due to lack of resources.
How YOU can help ...
£30 = Trains a Mind volunteer to promote awareness of mental health issues.
£1000 = Prints 5,000 advice booklets to help people deal with stress, bereavement, depression and eating disorders.
£200 = MindinfoLine remains open for 2 hours, answering on average, the concerns of 28 people in need of support and information.
£1200 = Prints 4000 copies of a new leaflet on issues such as depression or bereavement.
£150 = Provides training and work experience for someone recovering from mental illness.
£300 = Supports a Mind Befriending Scheme.
Going For Gold in 2009
If we raise £5000. That would make a REAL difference and enable Mind to do ALL of the above and more.
What's The Plan ?
Just some of the stuff that has taken place to date .......
A. Luci ran 500 miles between 1st January and 18th May this year (40th Birthday) - that WAS a challenge !
B. I completed the Manchester 10k on 17th May 09
C. Luci & Fee raised £3000 at the event "Big Birthday Boycott - Mind Your Head Mish Mash Bash" on Sat 9th May 09
D. Luci will be running the New York Marathon (26.3 miles) on 1st November 09 and hopes to raise £5000 in total.
