Story

Both the boys have decided that this christmas they want to raise money by climbing these three hills simultaniously, the summit of Battlesbury is 683 feet, Scratchbury 646ft and the estimated summit of Middle hill is 450ft. Meaning a combined total of 1780 feet approx plus the added bonus of about 6 miles and the cold december air. The boys will be equipt with backpacks for their lunch. The Day of the walk will be either Christmas eve, Christmas day or Boxing day and will be photographed at relevant points during the walk. I know this will be a tough challenge for the boys but I know they can do it .. Its a beautifull route and it will be a pleasure to do it for a good cause ... they will be dressing up as soldiers (as usuall) They are hoping that at christmas everyone will think of them doing this and remember the reason they are doing it to ........this was completeley their idea and something worth considering is that for an adult 1780 feet and 6 miles may seem easy, but Jay and Ellis are just 7 and 6 years old ....... I hope they go on to do much much more ...  thankyou for supporting their cause.

some wiki info......

The site is located to the east of the town of Warminster in the county of

Wiltshire. The hill has a summit of 197 m (646 ft) AOD. Nearby to the northwest lies

Middle Hill, and further northwest the hillfort of Battlesbury Camp (683ft) care must

be taken not to stray into the Military Firing ranges of

Salisbury Plain immediately to the north east.

Battlesbury hill occupies the summit of an irregular point of down, with its defences

following the natural contours of the hill, and being by nature of the site almost

inaccessible on the west and northeast sides. It has triple ditches and ramparts for

the most part, with double on the southeast side. The site encloses 23.5 acres in all.

There are entrances at the northwest and northwest corners.

Scratchbury Camp is the site of an Iron Age univallate hillfort located on

Scratchbury Hill, near the village and civil parish of Norton Bavant in Wiltshire.

The fort covers an area of 37 acres (15 ha) and occupies the summit of the hill

on the edge of Salisbury Plain, with its four-sided shape largely following the

 natural contours of the hill.
