Story

Help us raise money towards a vaccine against Meningitis!

You may know that in January 2009 my sister Carol died suddenly from meningitis (http://www.justgiving.com/lucyevans7). By the time that Meningitis was diagnosed, it was too late for Carol.

As time has passed, it has become clear to us that the only way to fight this devastating disease is to develop a vaccine, which is what Meningitis UK are trying to do.

We started running when Carol died. Initially, it was a way to grieve. The time taken to run was also time taken to think about Carol and where she might be. And by collecting sponsorship, it felt as though some good might come from her death. But after completing the Great North Run in September 2009, we found that there's no reason to stop either thinking about Carol or running. With your support, we'll keep running until there's a vaccine against all forms of Meningitis.
