At the age of 50 I thought it was about time I entered a full marathon From the beginning about eight years ago, when I could just about stagger to the end of our road, I have grown to love running.  It gives me a great sense of freedom and its simplicity is welcome in a complicated world.  Simple but not easy, the difficulty comes in keeping going, so the training is underway.

I am running for Addaction. Substance misuse reeks havoc in the lives of so many people from the addict themselves to their families and friends. Many of us have been touched or know people who have been affected  by this complicated  problem.  Addaction works in many different ways.  There are special services targeted towards young people , groups to explore the problems behind drug and alcohol misuse, education and employment programmes as well as support  for families and carers
