I have returned from the toughest challenge but most amazing and memorable week of my life. I cannot quite believe what i have accomplished and how much i enjoyed myself, even in cabins with no eletricity, running water and long drop toilets! I saw the Northern Lights in -25 degrees, Awesome. Sledded approx 250 km in -10, if not colder, most days, Looked after my four dogs, Carrie, Auriel, Tyrill and Emma. Skiddooed in an arctic storm. I am appealing for sponsorship to complete an arctic trek in aid of Battersea Dogs and Cats Home. Why Battersea Dogs and Cats Home My first dog, Asterix was rescued from Battersea in 1976 by my parents and since her, i have rescued many cats and my dog and for this reason, i would like to give something back to the charity. I know my animals have had very happy homes living with me, and i wish all the little cuties at Battersea all the comfort and care before they go onto their new cosy homes. Battersea *Battersea has been established for 140 years. *Battersea's aims are to rescue, reunite, rehabilitate and re-home lost, unwanted and abandoned dogs and cats. They rescue and re-home over 3,600 dogs and 2,100 cats annually. *The average stay for a dog is 23 days. *Cats stay at the centre for a shorter period, mainly because they are easier to rehome to people in flat accomodation. *There are three Battersea sites in the south and Battersea drivers are collecting strays and unwanted dogs everyday. *The centre is open 365 days a year and is looked after by paid staff and volunteers *It costs Battersea 32,000 per day to run it's three sites. So you see the animals need our help. Please sponsor me today and help me make their lives a little easier. It's easy to do, just click the Sponor us now button above and pledge even a £5, as every little helps. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Finally, if anyone has any contacts or knows of any companies or organisations who might be interested in sponsoring me please do pass me on their details.
So many thanks for taking the time to read this and sponsor me. I and the dogs and cats of Battersea really do appreciate it.
