The Aspire Channel Swim 2008 · 15 September 2008 ·

Every two hours someone in the UK is paralysed by a spinal cord injury. It can happen to anyone at any time and no one is prepared for how it will change their life. Aspire is a national charity that provides practical help, supporting spinal cord injured people from injury to independence.

Story

As many or you may or may not know I enjoy taking part in swimming.

One of my dreams is to swim the English Channel for real. However, its very difficult to find information about swimming the English Channel for real. Therefore, when i saw the ASPIRE CHANNEL SWIM challenge advertised I thought it would be ideal to take part. I know Aspire has set 12 weeks to complete the 22mile swim, but im hoping that my local swimming pool will let me have a lane for the day so i can see how many miles i can complete in one day! Its practice for when I do eventually swim the real English Channel .

Aspire is a charity that raises money for people with spinal cord injuries. These unfortunate people may never be able to walk again.

I hope you all would take the time and the effort to sponsor me and help people with spinal cord injuries.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: ASPIRE gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!
