Thanks for taking the time to visit my page.

I'm keeping a blog on my training here:

http://daliure.blogspot.com/search/label/marathon

I'm running the Virgin London Marathon in April 2011. I'm aiming to raise £1500 for Lattitude.

Lattitude is a global development charity, who send volunteers to places where they are really needed.

It's the company that I went to Vanuatu with in 2009. While there, i taught in a school that had one teacher for every 60 students, for 6 months. We also helped to build two new, permenant classrooms, to replace the very temporary bamboo ones that were there.

I have experienced first hand where the money goes for this charity, and can't express how important their work is.

I had such an incredible experience in Vanuatu and like to think that i've gone some way toward affecting my friends and families lives there, as much has they have changed mine. My time there was completely life changing and character building, and I couldn't imagine what my life would be like had i not gone. And i couldn't have gone without help from Lattitude.

It's not a well known charity, or one that everyone can relate to, so i imagine it would be harder to fork out £10 for lattitude than it would be for say, Oxfam, but if you knew me before I went away, and still know me now, then you would know how profound and important Ifound the whole experience to be.

So as well as running 42K for charity, as further incentive to get you to sponsor me, I have grown a Moustache for the month of Movember, and if i do raise the minimum sponsorship target of £1500 then i will get my very first tattoo.

Not only does sponsoring me benefit the charity. but it also encourages me to train. It's getting darker, colder and wetter every day and really, if you've given me £10 of your hard earned cash then it will motivate me to feel like i have to do something to earn that sponsorship. So please do!
