My story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In 2009 I suffered a brain injury after falling down some stairs, after an extensive stay in hospital and then Stode Park, Headway were there to help me get back on my feet, to get used to living at home again and by helping to get me interested in art, playing pool and other games they helped me to get my mind working again, and re-building my self confidence.
I will be doing the abseil at St Anne's Court, Herne Bay, on the 17th November at 2pm, hopefully lots of you can make it to give me some moral support, and, no doubt, we will then adjorn to The Divers Arms afterwards, who are being so supportive and helping me raise some money.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
My updates 9
And once again a huge thank you to everyone who has donated some money, it is looking like we will actually get a little over £500. And it is not to late, if you haven't got around to donating yet, this site will be going for another month, and every little bit helps Headway.
Luke's abseil went really well, we thought we would get rained on but luckily the weather held off and It was great to see Luke's family and friends come to cheer him on.
Just half an hour to go, hope to see lots of friends and family there to show their support, think I am more nervous than Luke lol. El xx
For those of you who didn't get to see it the link is - http://www.itv.com/news/meridian/2012-10-18/man-to-abseil-after-recovery-from-brain-injuries/ - for the Meridian online news.
So after the paper came out yesterday with Luke on the front page, no less, we received a phone call from Headway asking if we would like to do an interview with Meridian news, we of course said yes, and we were on the news last night.
