10,500 people in the UK have ataxia which is a progressive neurological condition that disrupts the messages sent from our brains to our muscles that are used to move, speak, listen and see. Ataxia UK funds research into finding treatments and a cure and provide support until they are found.

Story

Thanks so much to everyone that has supported me along the way! I finished on Friday 17th April 2009 as planned. In fact it was 979.24 miles and i finished it in 7 1/2 days, I can't quite believe it yet, though my saddle sore behind keeps reminding me! To see pictures and hear more baout it, find me on facebook. Thank you all so much, it was the generosity and moral support that kept me going through some very tough times...

I cycled John O'Groats to Land's End to raise money for a really good cause. I will be raising money for Ataxia UK, a charity that  helps to research this unusual illness and to help both sufferers and their families.

Ataxia is close to my heart as two of my close friends recently lost their father to an adult strain of the disease. There are no current cures but Ataxia UK is helping to fund medical research and development of treatments for all involved.

My crazy quest is to complete all 945 miles in 8 days as I have a busy work schedule and that's all the time I can fit in! I just hope the winds and the weather are with me ! Hopefully  I will be able to keep an updated blog going during the trip so that you can check my daily progress.

I start riding on Good Friday, 10th April 2009, please watch and please donate, thank you all. If anyone wants to join me for a stretch, please let me know, I would love the company!!

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Ataxia UK gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!
