- Too busy to take a lunch break today? - Perhaps you enjoyed a particularly scrummy lunch? - Or maybe you're just feeling generous ... If any of the above apply, then I'd like you to consider donating the value of your lunch to The Food Chain. Every Sunday (since Christmas Day 1988), Food Chain volunteers plan, prepare, cook and deliver over 400 meals to Londoners who are housebound because of HIV. They use 6 borrowed professional kitchens across London, and their own cars, to provide restaurant quality food which is tailored to the dietary needs and preferences of each service user, to tempt them back into eating and provide the strength to live with their condition. Each meal contains a hot main course, a dessert and a cold snack for later. You can find out more about The Food Chain at their website. Amazingly, they manage this on a budget of just £3.25 for each meal. With only 2% of funding coming from statutary sources, The Food Chain depend on fundraising to continue to provide this valuable service. Please take a moment to treat one of our service users to their lunch this Sunday. Our current target is £3250, which is 1000 meals. ------------------------------------------------------------ Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way: The Food Chain will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support.
