Right now, millions of children are in danger. They face violence, disease, hunger and the chaos of war and disaster. Unicef ensures more children get life-saving food, vaccinations, education and protection than anyone else. With your help, we can build a safer world for children. unicef.org.uk

Story

Hello, and welcome! if you've come this far, you may be willing to go a little further and cough up a few shekels from your purse to help me reach £500 in aid of UNICEF.

If you know me, you'll know that I bare physically no resemblance to an athlete of any sort. Aside form perhaps a Darts player. But if UNICEF can send their people into active conflict zones to carry out their work, I can make this small gesture and instead of watching Saturday Kitchen and having bacon sandwiches on a Saturday morning, I'll be wild swimming.

I have decided to take on is marathon of swims, to help reach the Clipper Round the World Yacht race team of which I am a part, to reach our collective fundraising goal of £60,000 to help UNICEF our Official Race Charity with their global mission to help children at risk of all sorts of terrifying and horrible situations such as violence and abuse, war, famine & malnutrition and disease.

I aim in to lose around 3 stone in the process of training over the next 4 months and I will keep you up to date as I train in the various LIDOS, reservoirs and rivers of Britain and beyond. Please feel free to join me on a training swim at any time.

The Swim will take place on September 3rd, where I will swim the 10Km from Totnes to Dartmouth through the Devon countryside. If you're in the area, do come and say hi and/or sling me a Mars bar and bottle of "Lucozade" . I'll then probably pass out.

As ever with JustGiving....any and all help is MUCH appreciated.

My first training swim takes place this Thursday at the Eastleigh country park triathlon lakes and It's about 10c degrees in the water. So ... yes. cold.

Thanks for visiting my page, you're a true help and a lovely person. Have a good one! I hope to catch up with you very soon.
