We find solutions to environmental problems to see a fair world for future generations

Story

David John Marchant
09 November 1973 - 03 June 2009

David was born in Croxley Green, attended Harvey Road and Durrants school, worked for Vodafone, Videotron and then for Orange for the past 12 years.

He was passionate about the outdoors, the environment, cycling, Karate, playing guitar, Thrash Metal music, socializing with friends and of course, motorcycling. Took part in many charity events and completed the Coast to Coast across the Pennines at Hadrians Wall, London to Paris and London to Brighton cycle rides.

Also walked the West Highland Way as well as many of the UK peaks, his soft spot was Wales where he would have loved to settle down working on outdoor activities and mountain walking.

He held a black belt in Karate, an art which he respected, practiced, researched and studied every day. He made some great friends there, whom he loved, during the 18 years he practiced it.

Always looked at ways to save energy and look after the environment in whichever way he could. Hated using the car and would avoid using it at all costs by taking his bicycle whenever possible.

Always ready for a chat with friends and neighbours, loved a catch up over a cold beer and a good curry. He loved spending quality time with friends and family and shared with everyone the things he enjoyed.

His all life true passion was motorbikes and enjoyed many rides within UK and Europe and looked forward every year to meeting up with good friends for the annual European trip and a few laps around the Nurburgring.

David was killed on a road accident during his return trip from his European Bike Tour. He spent two weeks biking around Switzerland, Italy and France and enjoying some of the most beautiful roads and sceneries. He enjoyed every minute of it.

He lived a short life which he managed to pack full of all the things he loved.

To his parents, Mary and John, to me, Lydia, his partner for 15 years, to his sister Hayley and her partner Leigh, family and friends, our tears and loss are immeasurable and he will always be alive in our broken hearts.

This Fundraising page is for a cause close to David's heart.
To use and aid development of renewable energies and promote sustainability.
Improve transport and increase pedestrian only areas as well as safer cycling routes so that they can be enjoyed by all.
To maintain our green spaces ensuring a place for future generations to enjoy.
To live in harmony with our planet by being responsible of our actions and their impact on the future.
