Now the interesting bit ! Graeme and I have volunteered to undertake a famous overnight walk across the Yorkshire Moors known as the Lyke Wake Walk which is a cross country 40 mile walk overnight ! It is an interesting proposition and more can be seen on the website www.lykewake.org/ . This is quite a challenge and Graeme who is a regular walker has already informed me that even a 20 mile day is pretty tough going so double the distance over testing terrain will take some emotional as well as physical stamina !! The date of the walk is 24 July and we set off at 16.00 and hope to finish at some point the following morning. There is no official route - as long as you start at the start and end at the end I am told !

The serious point of this jaunt is to raise money and we have selected Operation Smile - www.operationsmile.org.uk which is an excellent and deserving Charity as you will see from the website and you can also view just a few of the success stories on the following link  :  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4gkv4f9rykse .

The reason for selecting this Charity is in memory of John Tranter who unexpectedly died recently following what seemed a fairly minor football injury to his ankle. John worked in the same industry as us and it is a tragedy that he has left us prematurely since he was definietly "one of the boys !" and a superb Professional. Operation Smile was his favoured Charity and so we are delighted to use our endeavours to raise some funds on his behalf.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Thanks
