On 17th September we will be attempting to climb Mount Kilimanjaro to raise funds for  breast cancer research at Velindre Cancer Centre  and, despite us coming up with perhaps the corniest page title in the history of corny page titles,  we  would very much appreciate your support! 

At 19,340 feet above sea level, Mount Kilimanjaro in north-eastern Tanzania is the tallest mountain in Africa and the highest free-standing mountain in the world.   We’ll be climbing (up it mostly, in theory, or so they tell us) for 9 days,  for an average of 7 hours per day, in the same clothes (eek!), with no washing or toilet facilities (double eek!), to reach the summit, where it will be around -30° degrees; pretty chilly, by anyone's standards.

Pete, as befits his lofty status as a Spartan, will be sustained by dedication, true grit, chewing gum and tea, whereas  Lynne, as befits her status as a High Maintenance Duchess, will opt for big pants, blind optimism and mascara. If you can find it in your hearts to sponsor our endeavours, both we, and Velindre Hospital, will be really grateful.
