BUPA Great North Run 2005 · 18 September 2005 ·

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the leading charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

Well, another one over - and a very special one for me!

Not because it's the 25th GNR, but because this year my 'little' sister completed it too! (She's the one in the middle towering over me!) She and her husband, Dave were 'inspired' when they came to watch Tom and I running last year and decided right away that they would do it this year. They even managed to press-gang another friend, Rachael (left), and the posse from Nottingham descended upon Newcastle on Saturday afternoon raring to go!

The heat and the hustle-bustle didn't get the better of them and they all finished in very respectable times (in fact Dave's was so respectable I'm too jealous to mention it!). A very proud trio drove home to Nottingham on Sunday and I'm told "They'll be back!" as will Tom and I!

If you've already donated please accept my heartfelt thanks. I really do appreciate your support especially when there's so much other fundraising going on. If you'd still like to donate it's not too late. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Stroke Association will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. Thanks for visiting my page and thanks for your support. Lynne x:o)
